Great place, even though the shower head felt like bullets and the drawers in the loft were broken, the condo in it's entirety was amazing! Great place! Stocked really well and for such a low price too!
My fiance and I stayed at the Estates for 5 days, 4 nights. It was wonderful! The property was well cared for and had everything that we needed! Our only bummer is that we thought we read we had rights to use the amenities on the Turtle Bay resort property (pool, gear and such)and came to find that that was not true. It all worked out anyway and we had a grand time! We were still able to eat at the restaurants and watch the sunsets and the like- We recommend it! Thanks so much!
I think they need to update their furniture. The couch was ripped and worn, but the location is perfect and the neighborhood is safe enough to walk around at all hours. We were within walking distance from Turtle Bay Resort and the beach which made it all worth it!! I would definetly stay there again.
As a result, the property management found us another condo with a working internet...this property is lovely as well. We stay here at the estates at least once a year and love the location and the condos. Thank you!
Not a good condo for children or elderly people, bedroom is in a loft with steep staircase. Furniture is worn out and dirty.
The stairs to the loft are a bit slippery and a bit difficult to manage coming down. My partner slipped and fell the bottom portion of the stairs twice....once getting a rub burn on her arm trying to grasp the armrail. The only way to manage the stairs was to go down sideways!
Nice golfcours view, but very noisey ground keeping early morning 5:am
Great location with several very nice beaches within 10 minutes or so. Close to Wiameia(?) Bay, which is great for snorkeling. No complaints on the condo - it's old but 126W has been recently updated and is pretty nice.
How can I complain? We had all we needed. It's not a top-notch millionaire feeling place, but it's cozy, clean, quiet, convenient, appealing and affordable! We loved it. It had a great kitchen area, a washing machine and dryer, three beds (counting the pull out), nice view of the golf course, just a skip and a jump over to the Turtle Bay resort and beach (so you don't have to pay to park there, you can just walk from your apartment). The location is great for all the local beaches: 10 min to Waimea and Sharks Cove, 10 min the other way to Laie. Eating out is so expensive in Hawaii, so it was nice to have a great big fridge so that we could go shopping at the local grocery store and put everything at our place. We loved it! The only suggestion I would have is for the owners to leave some games or tennis rackets for the courts, which are right next to the apartment. We give it a 9.5 out of 10.
I could never get the air conditioning to work. It didn't really matter so much because I had the fan and the open windows. We would like to come back in December and are hoping to do so.
We loved staying at Turtle Bay. The resort was absolutely beautiful. The location was perfect and so nice to be away frow the city. This condo was small enough for the two of us and didn't feel cramped at all. The air conditioning worked great and we were very comfortable. We would definately return for the low rate and high quality service!!!
Mahalo for the nice review~!
Our trip last August was the 2nd time I had stayed at the Estates at Turtle Bay. Both times were a-ma-zing! The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing, as opposed to the crowded city down in Honolulu, and it's close to everything wonderful up on the North Shore. I lived in Hawaii for a year and whenever I go back, The Estates at Turtle Bay is the only place I plan to stay.
Although we live on Oahu, this vacation rental allowed us to feel like we were visiting another island. We enjoyed our stay and was pleased with all the amenities, including a washer & dryer and a fully furnished kitchen.
I love Hawaii I have been in Hawaii 3. My husband is a surfer and he show me the most beautiful place in my life. And my honey moon was there!!!!!! I love Kuilima and I hope to be there next year.Kisses to Susan my diller rental apartament.Mahalo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Property was old, couch torn, carpet stained and the housekeeping was terrible!
126W is a dated studio. Kitchen has been updated but the rest of the apartment is 1990's. 4X4 tiles in kitchen and bath room but carpet in rest of studio. Carpet is dirty with large spots and worn. Bathroom is clean but dated. Stairs to loft are killers at night. Loft ceiling is separating from the rafters with holes directly over the bed. If you are worried about spiders or creepy crawlies falling on you in the night..... On the flip side it was very inexpensive. Outside Turtle Bay grounds were perfect as always with golf courses in perfect condition. The resort was booming and impossible to tell they just came out of bankruptcy everything looked pretty good for April. Long and short you get what you pay for. If this is for the perfect honeymoon get a different condo. If you are a frequent visitor to Turtle Bay/North Shore and want a very inexpensive crash site this is fine.
We enjoyed staying at Turtle Bay Estates! Convenient location to stay when visiting all North Shore attractions. Our unit could have been cleaned better and the furniture was worn - but overall we had a great stay. The kitchen appliances are new and worked great!
We took advantage of a three-day weekend to get away with friends for two days of golf. The Estates gave us a reasonably priced venue with everything we needed. The unit was right on the No. 3 fairway of the Fazio course, making the view very nice and the setting very quiet. Can't wait to do this again!
Weather was the worst in 11 trips to Hawaii, my fifth to the north shore of Oahu and 4th at Kuilima Estates. Need to fix the burned out lights. Watch your head when going up to the loft. Handle on refrigerator is loose, as well as the door lock on the main entrance.
couldn't find a switch or circuit breaker in condo 126 to give power to the microwave. otherwise very nice, just a bit out of the way for our island itinerary. condo is not near the address of the management office in Kahuku -- it's 4 miles further north.
Property and furnishings are somewhat dated but very adequate. Proximity to Turtle Bay Resort was a plus. Certainly could not beat the price. I would stay here again.
It was a good stay overall. Very efficient and handy for one person... had everything I needed. The little kids next door were a little noisy at times but generally not too bad at all.
This was our first time to stay at the Estates of Turtle Bay. This buget unit only had one window airconditioner but, met our general needs. The location was great. Very quiet. Nice landscaping. Golf course view. Chose this area because of the running trails. Also, free parking. We snorkled at the beach area and saw several sea turtles and tropical fish. We are looking forward to returning in May 2008 where we have already booked a nicer unit.
The dishes were dirty, and carpet very dirty. The condo needs to be deep cleaned and carpet needs to be shampooed.
Bed not very comfortable and loft was claustrophobic. Couch not comfortable. View & location great.
Light bulbs were burnt out, the lamps were old & rusty, wobbly, the window lever to open the window in the living room was broken off--but everything got fixed after we notified mgmt. Would be nicer if the wall pictures were replaced with new updated ones, the small TV was replaced with a flat screen, & the BR had a facelift, but still v. practical & usable. Enjoyed the new applicances in the kitchen & extra bedding/towels. Very nice stay, quiet, peaceful with birds singing in the mornings & immaculate lush grounds full of color & foliage! enjoyed the adult only pool too! Mahalo.
Overall we had a nice vacation but of course the condo needed some maintenance such as sliding door rollers, fridge handle tightened, burnt out light bulbs replaced and livingroom bottom louvers on window fixed. The sliding doors was our biggest concern. You have to be pretty strong to open and close that door. Even the screen door would jam to open or close it. The furniture was quite uncomfortable. That includes the couch and bed. The cleansiness was okay. I've rented from the Estates at Turtle Bay five times now and never had a complaint about the other condos I was in. I would rent unit #126 West again if maintenance was done and newer/comfortable furniture was in the condo. Thank you
This unit could easily use some sprucing up. Most of the furniture looks original & soiled. The loft area is cramped but do able. The kitchen faces the parking lot so without window shades it is not very private trying to have a meal in there. It would be nice to have a newer shower head, caddy & more racks for towels. As far as location, the northshore is tops as well as the location of these units. Management is very helpful but they are a mile or so from the estates. There is an office on site as well as security to help with some matters. Cannot beat the relaxed atmosphere & beauty of this side of Oahu.
This condo had a great updated kitchen. The condo was a good clean unit. The back screen door had come off the frame and so mosquitos were very welcome and we got eaten alive. The bed was old and squeeky every time we moved the sounds woke us up - so we never slept well. Next time we'll pay a little extra/night for an upgrade and hope for a better bed and a little more updated condo.
Great affordable place. My unit had an a/c problem that was not resolved. The weather was perfect so it was not a big deal.
The condo was clean but there were these tiny bugs on the kitchen counter. The loft was very hot when we arrived and didn't sleep up there. Wife slept on couch and I slept on twin bed under stairs. Loft bedroom created a safety concern if getting up in the night.
Great location, easy driving to get to north shore or east coast beaches/attractions. Nice beach on property was only a 5-10 min walk.
I love the location at Turtlebay because it is not commercialized in that area. I dislike the location because I can not walk to a grocery store from the condo. I know that would be asking a lot but I wish there was a small grocery close buy. I love being able to walk to everything and like how uncommecialized (ie tourist tarp)the area is. The sleeping area upstairs did smell mildewy, but the rest of the condo was adequate and clean.
